Center for Clinical and Translational Research - Pilot Project Funding Available


One of the goals of the new Center for Clinical and Translational Research, directed by Dr. James P. Kushner, is the support of Pilot Projects in clinical and translational investigation. The aim of this program is to provide initial support for otherwise unfunded projects in order to develop hypotheses and preliminary data that will allow application for funding by the NIH or other national agencies and foundations.

Specific consideration will be given to projects that:

  • Further the overall goals of the CCTS, namely fostering multidisciplinary, innovative clinical and translational research;
  • Foster the development of novel translational research methods;
  • Bring the wider community of both researchers and study subjects in the region into the research enterprise, and;
  • Foster the future clinical research careers of junior investigators.

Funding of each Pilot Project will be up to $25,000 for one year, with the option to apply competitively for a one year extension. Applications are due by August 1.
