Patient Education Resources

Education is integral in the treatment of diabetes. The results of the Diabetes Control and Complications Trial (DCCT) released by the National Institutes of Health in 1993, proved conclusively that maintaining blood sugars as close to normal as possible significantly reduces the complications commonly associated with diabetes. The DCCT confirmed that frequent interactions between the patient and a diabetes care team improve outcomes for people with diabetes.

The Education programs at the Utah Diabetes Center are fully recognized by the American Diabetes Association, and include:
