A Tradition of Excellence
The University of Utah Liver Transplant program offers the average of 12 years of transplant experience, including board certified adult and pediatric liver transplant surgeons, hepatologists, registered nurse coordinators, dieticians, licensed clinical social workers, financial advisors and support staff.
Liver Transplant Surgeons and Transplant Hepatologist who have performed over 400 liver transplants. Trained at the University of Pittsburg Thomas E. Starzel Transplantation Institute and the Mayo Clinic/Rochester. Our local liver transplant list waiting times are shorter in comparison to other centers within our region.
Expert Care
Multidisciplinary approach, providing patients access to a team of health care professionals who are experienced in all medical and surgical aspects of transplantation. Our team works directly with the referring physicians to provide clinical support for the patients.
- Several surgical and non-surgical treatment options are offered for patients with liver disease and/or malignancies.
- Surgical services include transplantation, liver resection for malignancies and bile duct reconstruction.
- Provide both surgical and non-surgical procedures to reduce portal hypertension and variceal bleeding.
- Non surgical services include intrahepatic arterial chemotherapy and radiofrequency ablation for patients with liver cancer tumors.
- Research- We are committed to offer state of the art patient care with knowledge gained from its involvement in ongoing clinical research.
