Eligibility for the Infecious Diseases Fellowship Program
The University of Utah School of Medicine does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, age,religion, color, national origin, disability, or veteran's status.
To be eligible for appointment, an applicant must have completed a residency in internal medicine in a U.S. program, AND
- Be a graduate of a U.S. or Canadian medical school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME)
OR
- Be a graduate of a college of osteopathic medicine in the U.S. which is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
OR
- Be a graduate of a medical school outside of the U.S. who meets one or more of the following qualifications:
- Has a current, valid ECFMG certificate, or
- Has a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a U.S. Licensing jurisdiction, or
- Is a graduate of a medical school outside the United States who has completed a Fifth Pathway program provided by an LCME-accredited medical school.
Applicant must have passed Step I, Step II CS and CK, and Step III of the USMLE, prior to the time they will begin training.
Additional documentation will be required of international medical graduates:
- Copy of green card, visa (J-1 only), or documentation of U.S. citizenship
- Valid ECFMG certificate with Clinical Skills Asessment Certification
- Evidence of a mimimun of six months of some type of clinical experience in the United States in an academic-affiliated hospital as evidenced by three letters of recommendation from physicians familiar with their work.
Deadline for applications via ERAS is February 28, 2009.
Interviews will begin at the end of February 2009.
